A wedding is one of the most pivotal moments in a gentleman’s life. It’s the time your family and friends come together to celebrate the love you share with that special someone. There’s a lot to do and a lot to take in. The team at Suit Society is here to support you on every step of your wedding journey.
It’s important to make sure your wedding suppliers understand your needs. Like suits, there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to choosing a celebrant. At Suit Society, we collaborate with you every step of the way to make sure your outfit is tailored to you. Likewise, a quality celebrant should complement your wedding style and work with you to create the perfect vibe for your ceremony.
There are plenty of celebrants to choose from in Brisbane, each with different styles and personalities. Suit Society has partnered with Jamie and Cara from Brisbane City Celebrants, to give you the best tips and tricks when it comes to choosing your perfect celebrant.
How to Choose a Perfect Celebrant – Jamie and Cara – Brisbane City Celebrants
Start by thinking about your style.
On the day, your celebrant guides you through the ceremony from start to finish. Whether it be a large family gathering or a private elopement, it’s a good idea to have a style in mind and make a list of your preferences. If you’re unsure, your chosen celebrant can help design your perfect ceremony.
Some things to consider include your preference for a male or female celebrant, and whether they’ll present themselves to your guests as professional, quirky, alternative or modern.
Think about the kind of ceremony you would like. There are a few important questions to ask yourself. Will it be traditional or modern? Formal or relaxed? Something humorous and entertaining? Religious or non-religious?
Once you’ve narrowed down your preferences, it’s good to start searching online. Using specific keywords and characteristics will narrow your search to celebrants that suit your needs.
Research your prospective celebrant/s.
You’ll likely find a few potential celebrants to shortlist, and if you’re lucky there may even be one that stands out straight away. Here are two easy ways to check if they’re right for you:
1. Watch videos of them performing weddings. This will give you a great insight into their ceremony style and delivery. You’ll be able to see if the guests, groom and bride-to-be look comfortable and relaxed. For better photos, a celebrant will often position the bride and groom in the centre of the ceremony backdrop. Also, check to see if the celebrant steps away from the couple for the kiss. They shouldn’t be in the frame for those important moments.
2. Read their reviews. Hearing what their former couples have to say about their day is invaluable! Reviewers will let you know about their ceremony and what they enjoyed, so you can weigh up their experiences compared to what you’re looking for. Google Reviews is a great place to start. Check to see if some of the reviewers have Google Local Guide badges. Most wedding suppliers, including celebrants, will also have a Facebook page which is another place to view client reviews.
